I'm in New Mexico and I recently applied for a job with the local public schools. I have been told that I did not get the job. When I asked why, I was told that they do not give out that information, that basically I am not entitled to find out why I wasn't hired. Is this legal? I have a feeling the reason may be too much education, but of course I can't prove this since I can't even find out why I wasn't hired.

Thank you for any advice you can give me.

The company is correct. They have no legal obligation to tell you why you were not hired.
