What is the name of your state? VA

I am contemplating leaving a sales position, but do not have a contract, and there is no provision for unpaid commissions. Does anyone know if I am entitled to receive all commissions due? (I am owed a 5 figure amount)

I don't know VA law specifically, but in my state you would be owed the commissions for any sales you completed, but not for sales you may have worked on but that someone else will complete after your resignation. I believe most states have a policy similar to this one. For a definitive answer, you'll have to contact the VA Wage and Hour Division.
