What is the name of your state? Georgia

My husband was rearended by another semi in the state of New Mexico on 10/16/00. He was a passenger in the truck, and has back and neck injuries. He receives injections (25) in his neck and back every 3- 4 months and will continue for the rest of his life.
We have just recently (approximately 4 weeks ago) filed our lawsuit in federal court.

There are 4 states involved in the case:
New Mexico ( accident happenend), Iowa ( husband employer there), Ohio ( defendant was located in that state) and Georgia ( where we reside)

What we are wondering is:

1. How long does the other party have to answer our suit?

2. Will the workers Comp decision ( 50% pernamently disabled) play a roll in the case?

3. Will his age plan any roll in the settlement ?
He is only 31
