State: Pennsylvania.

I rear-ended the car in front of me on a very rainey day. My car was totaled and the other persons car had damage to its rear bumper.

I was out on company business to visit a customer, not something that I usually do when this happened.

My question is, does my company have any financial responsibility?

At the moment the claim is being handled entirely by my insurance company.

can you prove it?

How do we know you weren't going to see your mistresss/hidden boyfriend?

in california law states that the employer is responsible, sometimes i have seen it in route to work. little crazy but it happens here in california. get your companies insurance and file the claim with them. your not in business for yourself so if you were out on business they would be responsible for it. the question is were you on the clock being paid while in your car??
