What is the name of your state? NY

A few months ago, my husband was stopped while getting out of a carhe had been riding in. The cop asked if he could search him and my husband consented. He had 2 ectasy pills on him. They took him in and told him if he would help get someone else they could drop the charge of 7th degree criminal posession. He started working with an investigator and even got a deal on tape for them, he was still supposed to help get a bigger deal.

In the meantime he met with the public defender who had not even taken the bar exam yet, who told us they would not end up dropping the charges for helping them. But she would call the DA to see what could be done. She never got back to us. We called her numerous times and left messages and she never returned our calls. The investigator would not get back to us either and "the big deal" never happened.

We were in the process of moving to another state and left anyway. My husband was do in court and obviously did not show up, so a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Will a statute of limitations eventually run up? If so how long? If he ever did get caught will they take into consideration that he has lived completely drug free ever since, has held down a very good job and his a family to provide for? Will they also take into consideration that the investigator screwed us and the wannabe public defender did nothing for us? We actually kept checking our voicemail the whole time until after he was due in court and no one from the Public defenders office ever called us to decide when to meet to decide how he would plead or anything. the letter saying a warrant was issued wasn't even from her but still from the office.

Your husband is a fugitive. If pulled over for even a traffic violation, odds are he will be arrested.

Your hubby has only been "drug free" for a couple of months and you think that will influence any court?

Your hubby needs to get his act together. Hire an attorney (since he now has a good job) and find out the price hubby is going to have to pay for running out.

The longer you wait the harder the fall.
