What is the name of your state? alabama

i recently retired after working for a company for 23 years. i
divorced my previous wife 22 years ago. because my company
required a one year waiting period i did not contribute to my
retirement until october of 1980. This was the same month my
divorce took place. When we divorced we split our assets of that
time which were meager and I agreed to child support. I have
paid child support without fail for 22 years. my daughter is retarded so I will pay support as long as she is dependant.
my ex-wife applied for and is now receiving $866 from my Social
security. When I ask if she still expected the child support she
started up saying she was also entitled to half of my retirement.
question: can she get half of my retirement even though all of
my contributions to my pension came after our divorce. we were
married prior to our divorce for 23 years. all of my savings and pension were accumulated since the divorce.

My response:

Ask her for the name and phone number of the attorney from whom she received this information and advice. Also, ask her for the Code section numbers that she's relying upon for her statement.
