Met with divorce mediator today, when asked he said it would cost between $3600-$5600 on avg. depending on how many sessions it takes(he says 7-9 on avg.). $200/hr for all billable time. Plus he says he spends between 10-14hrs writing up the actual legal agreement of our divorce. With one child and a house and not many other assets to divide up, does this sound like a fair amount to be charged from a mediator?? He is a lawyer with 25 yrs experience, past 9 doing mediation only. I was under the impression that mediation would be a little more kinder to the wallet.
