What is the name of your state? Minnesota-wedding scheduled for Illinois-he lives in Arizona.
My question. I was engaged to be married and two weeks before the wedding, he left me high and dry. I had all of the bills, apartment rent, etc. After everything was cancelled, presents sent back, and fees, I was about $4,000 in debt. When he left, he left a note saying that he would pay the last three months rent from the lease he co-signed on, and he would pay give me his last pay check (~$925). Since then, I haven't seen a dime of what he agreed to pay.
Is this a suit which can be played on? He left me with all sorts of bills, all of which I have written proof of, as well as the letter he wrote promising all sorts of things. His bill is up to ~$9,000. What should I do? Where should I go? Civil Case? Where should it be filed?
Young and Legally confused!
