What is the name of your state? NJ
My ex brother in-law passed away in June of 2001
My sister his wife passed away in Feb of 2002.
My ex brother in-law named is daughter as exectrix. My sister named me as executor.
Myself and the exectrix both signed the
NJ State income tax forms for income made by brother in-law and my sister for year 2001.We received a refund of $5361.00 in the year 2002 which must now be claimed as income for the tax returns
being filed this year. The estates split the refund in half.
I received the 1099 in the mail for the
amount which must be claimed for this years filing with my brother in-law SS# on it.
How do we go about filing the returns
as the estates have not been on the best of terms.
