What is the name of your state? SC

I have earned no $$ in 2002.

Other than the sale of my house, my income has been about $8K from a Deferred Income annuity and about $2K from Social Security.

Could I put $2K in my IRA and take a deduction for contributions to my traditional IRA?

If I can make a deposit to my IRA, am I limited to $2000?

Thanks for your help.

Deferred Income

My deferred income is earned income. It just happens that I earned it some years ago and am only now collecting it.

Would deferred income make me eligible to make a contribution to my IRA?

Thanks.
