What is the name of your state? Pennsylvania

My husband(Ex as of February 5) is essentially a deadbeat. I supported him throughout 2002 and the very, very small income he had did not come close to amounting to anything. Now, he is refusing to provide me with a copy of his w-2 to file a joint return. Are my only options married filing joint and married filing separate? Is there anything I can do to reduce my taxes? Does it matter that the divorce papers were initially filed two years ago but they were just finalized one week ago? The difference between joint and separate is $2400, so we are not talking about a little bit of money!! Any help would be appreciated.

If you lived apart from him for the last 6 months of the year and had a child living with you, you can file head of household. Otherwise, you have to file MFJ or MFS. Offer him $500 to file a joint return. You're still ahead of the game.
