What is the name of your state? VA

My phantom ex-husband left me holding the bag for over $30K in Federal & State taxes - and he is nowhere to be found. Is there anything I can do to get IRS off my back and on to his? The taxes were accrued while we were married.

Hire a tax attorney and make an offer in compromise. You might also look into innocent spouse relief, depending on whether you should have known about the unpaid taxes.
