A simple question that I need answered on donations

What is the name of your state? california. I have the receipts from the salvation army on donated items, but It is under my girlfriend's name and not mine. It does have my address on it however and she lives with me. Can I use this donation for my tax benefit or must I somehow change the name to have my name on it too. Thank you in advance for your helpfullness.

To qualify for a deduction, you must have written proof that you made it. What you have is proof that your girl friend made the deduction.
