My father had a stroke and lives in a nursing facility in Arizona. I have taken care of his finances since the stroke. I live in Virginia. I have been counseled to get Power of Attorney (which my father agrees to), but I do not know which state it needs to satisfy -Arizona or Virginia. His bank accounts are in Virginia. Thank you.

Get several, one for for each state -- and better yet, also get each bank to give you its form of power of attorney (they often are funny about accepting other forms) and have him execute it.
