Can anyone tell me how to check the status of an insurance policy, specifically a Veteran's life insurance policy, of a deceased person?

I am in California, the person in question was a Korean War veteran. Who would I start to make inquiries with?

Additionally, how would I go about finding out the status of stocks held in the name of the deceased?

Thank you for any help.

Prudential (Newark, NJ) administers the Servicemen's Group Life Plan for the Government.

Are you a presumed heir (family member, etc.)? Or just curious?

Contact Prudential by writing to their main office in Newark, attention Servicemen's Group Life Program, and explain that you are the son.

Thank you very much for the information. I will act on it immediately.

Any ideas about the stocks? It is my belief that they were Bank of America stocks purchased probably 30 or so years ago.

Again, thank you.
