What is the name of your state? ky

my sister claimed her grandchild on her taxes this year. she had the child and supported him for more than 50% of the year. now the other grandmothers boyfriend (who lives with her)has claimed the baby, they called my sister wanting to know if she claimed the baby, she said yes and they said that they received a letter saying they were being audited now because they had claimed the baby too.
my sister had all the documentation of when she had the baby.
who is right?

Your sister, unless they spent more money on the child when the child lived with them than she did when the child lived with her.
