I do not have a will yet or a trust. Need to protect personal assets such as retirement accounts, stocks, bank accounts and investments. I am to become a director of a newly formed corporation and want to protect my assets in case of a lawsuit and for other general purposes. please advise what i need.

If you can get officers and directors liability insurance, get it.

If you have real worries, serve on a company Advisory Board, not the real board.

And look at Asset Protection on FreeAdvice.com, and get a will done anyway.
