What is the name of your state? TN

My last question -

During 2002, income from Jan-July was reported to me on 1099; Aug-Dec 2002 saw a change to a W-2.

Am I correct that Schedule C is still required for for the 1099 amount? Also, is mileage related to the self-employment deductable only for the Jan-July period or for the whole year?

Again, I am grateful for your time in answering these questions this evening.

File Sch.C for Jan-July. You deduct miles for Jan-July on Sch.C. You deduct miles for Aug-Dec on Sch.A as miscellaneous deductions. You can't deduct commuting miles.
