What is the name of your state? Indiana

My 20 year old son uses marijuana and has for a few years now. My son drives my old car (still in my name) and has for the last 3 years. If he is stopped and drugs are found on him, what legal issues am I facing since it's still my car? Also since he still lives at home and we know he uses what can happen to us as parents?

My husband and I have never used drugs.

Thank you for your advice.

My response:

You're not responsible for his criminal acts. He's an adult.

However, you are responsible for his negligent acts while he's driving a car that is registered to you; e.g., if he causes a vehicular accident.

Also, your car will more than likely be impounded by the police while they trot him off to jail - - and paying for impound fees can be quite costly.
