What is the name of your state? Tennessee
I agreed to leave my life insurance to our adult children in the seperation but i have since decided i want to leave a portion to someone that my wife or children would not allow if they had a say so. What must i do beside changing the benificery of my policy to ensure that my life insurance is distributed to whom i desire without anyone (my soon to be ex-husband and adult children) being able to keep the money tied up in court or keeping the money from going to who i designate? Our legal separtion was filed in the state of KY but i have been living inTennessee for 4 years. Does the seperation agreement to designate who recieves the money overide any new change i make in distribution of my life insurance?

I am really confused.....

"someone that my wife <snip> without anyone (my soon to be ex-husband <snip>"

Dare I ask - how do you have a wife AND a soon to be ex-husband??? Apart from the questions of bigamy, uumm, it's not usual for one person to have spousses of different genders...
