We live in Alabama and are trying to settle a Will which was administered by a dual executorship (a brother and brother-in-law). The brother-in-law has passed away prior to completely settling the will. Would the executorship automatically be passed to the sole surviving executor or is there some way to guarantee a dual executorship remain?

Thanks

Absent compelling cause, it really depends on what the Will says.
