My father passed away recently and my stepmother and i have opened an estate in his name due to a wrongful death case. The attorney has added my step sisters and brothers name to the case under the statement that they are also eligible to recover by law. (These are adult individuals) My understanding that estate law in PA (intestacy) is that the estate is divided among the spouse and natural children of the deceased. Is this correct? and can the stepchildren try to claim a part of my fathers estate?
