A friend of mine just recently passed away. She had one son/child (28 yo), who is currently being pursued for child support. My friend did not have a will or life insurance policy. It is an assumption at this point that the house (which is bought and paid for) will go to her son. If this is true can the DA's office put a lien on the property and thus sell it for the child support that he is in arrears for (2,500)? Can he legally keep the property in his mother's name, and for how long?

He would like for his children to be able to stay with him. The custodial parent has had the children taken away from her due to abuse. The children are now currently in foster care in Phoenixville, PA. The above mentioned parties currently reside in Philadelphia, PA.

Being home taking care of his mother until her death left him with very little money to work with and thus he is trying to buy time to catch up on all of his financial responsibilities.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
