Inheiritance

I am 21 years old, and my great-grandmother passed recently and left me $10,000. I heard from my Aunt that my Grandmother (Executor) is tring to get the great-grandchildren to agree to keep the money in a CD under her name and ours and she will give me (us) the money when she wanted. She originally told me I would not get the money. Do I have to agree, or can I request she send me the money so I can put it into a mutual fund. Since I inheireted the money, how can she make us keep it in her name and she decide when we can get the money? Please help.

If the money was not put in trust, it is yours as soon as the estate is settled. That may take a while however.
