i have a friend who has a daughter by another man they were not married she is five and her father has not seen or paid chidsupport for her ever.she has been married for two and a half years her husband want to adopt the child.does she have to have the fathers consent
and can she make him pay back chidsupport and ask him to terminate his rights?

The stepfather will have to file a petition to adopt. After filing, the "father" will be asked to give his consent to the adoption. If he refuses, your lawyer will ask the court to terminate his parental rights. The biological father will have to be contacted.

I believe she can only get support from the time she files for it. She cannot file for support now and expect to get money for the last five years.
