My husband's father just passed away and left all assets to his mother who has alzheimers. My husband is his mother's power of attorney. Can he give himself a gift of money under the terms of the "Power of attorney" document as long as he gives an equal amount to his siblings.

If the POA specifically grants such gifting powers, then yes it should be allowed. Convincing the financial institution to honor the POA may be another story. Good luck.
