My father died in January 2000 in PA leaving each
of his five children to serve as executors.
He left behind a computer and a tv and
nothing else as he had been in a nursing home
for many years. My questions are:
1) How long do we have to settle the estate?
2) Can a meeting of the five executors be
called by any one of the executors in a
county other than where my father died
and if so, how do I go about handling
this?
3) Each executor can decline from serving as
an executor but does not responding to a
certified letter of a meeting OR not
showing up for a meeting automatically
relinquish their rights as executor?

This estate should have been settled months ago. There is no need for a long protracted probate since there basically are no assets to distribute and nothing to talk about. What is the status of probate? The court would rule that the problems with the executors are a moot point as there is no job for them to do. How about donating the computer and tv to the nursing home and let your father rest in peace.
