What is the name of your state? Kansas
i have filed for legal separation but it has not been served. Can i make some changes to what is stated in the papers?

My response:

Yes, but only by way of filing an amended pleading with the court, and then serving him with the amended pleading. You cannot simply make changes to your copies, and then serve that "changed" copy to him.

by making a amended pleading to what is stated in the legal separation papers i am assuming that there will be a charge from my lawyer as well as having to submit new papers to the court? i had to pay a total of 150.00 for the filing, will this be considered a new filing so i would have to pay additional 150.00:

My response:

I can't tell you whether or not your attorney will or won't charge you for the amended pleading. That's between you and him, and your contract.

However, there shouldn't be a further filing fee from the court for the first amended Petition/Complaint.

in cases of legal separation can i state that i agree to receive no child support as long as it is spelled out that all expenses for our 13 yr son are split?
