My grandparents have a will, both are currently living, but not for long. They want to transfer ownership of home and land to their two adult children, but if they do so staight across at this time, they will commit fraud as far as Medicaid is concerned. They can not transfer property in Idaho unless it is three years in advance of need. In this case, the need is within the next year. At this point, Grandfather is still alive, but will probably pass in the next few months. Grandmother wants to be able to live on the property until her death but forsees needing medicaid for some of the personal care services which they provide. Medicaid will not step in unless she is willing to transfer assets to the State, forcing her to become financially dependent on the State. She would rather have her assets go to her children. How can she accomplish this and not be frauding Medicaid?

WELL well well.......jsut learned about the rules.... too bad...

The only answer is for your grandfather not to get sick, in the next 3 years.

You might as well forget about, inheriting anything, but what they could do is let you take stuff out of their place, you know have them buy a tv have it delivered to them, then YOU take it home, instead of her gving $5 or $10 for birthday's tell her to give $500 or $1000 to them in a US savings bond with you as the benificiary....what can they really do? take it from the grandkids yeah right!

Change their life insurance beneficiaries, to you or the grandkids...

Also they could take out a reverse mortgage, which would loan them the money to pay off hospital bills and will be paid back at death by selling the house.

in other words spend money on themselves,
you and the grand kids....little by little whatever money they have will go down, then blame it on grandpa he had atlzheimers...

So how much is the house worth and how much cash do they have? and life insurance? you know ya gotta make it look good....

ya gotta be cold and sneaky...
