i am executor of my aunts estate. my aunt co-ssigned for a loan for two of her employees (husband and wife) to buy cars. there is a balancae of 410,00 owed on the loan. the cars are now worth only $4000.00 the employees have othing and no way to pay the loan. already tryed to sue them. when filing federal estate tax retrn do i use the 10,000 as a deductionor the $4000.00 as a deduction and what is the law-statue number and does any one know of any cases that would deal with this same question.
