What is the name of your state? mo

Does anyone know if having and old bankruptcy (7years) in a previous marriage, will have an affect on trying to adopt a child?

If this is a stepparent adoption - finances are not supposed to be considered in the approval or disapproval of an adoption

"this is not a step parent adoption"

We adopted our daughter from Eastern Europe almost 4 years ago. My DH and his ex had a bancrupcy before we met (maybe 8 years ago). So, YES, one can do an unrelated adoption if there is a bancrupcy several years in the past.
