What is the name of your state? Pennsylvania

A hypothetical question: if someone won a settlement from a lawsuit, but also filed for bankruptcy, (not sure when the BK was filed, just assume it was filed after the lawsuit started, but before the judgement for settlement was given) how can this be, and what would happen?
