i am currently married with a 12 year old son but and i have decided to seperate from my wife and move out of the home.

will this affect my custodial rights to my son?

No. Simply put, legal and physical custody is a matter of which parent can provide a more stable and healthy environment for the child.

However, even if you don't win physical custody, you still do not give up your rights to joint custody with visitation. Your moving simply has no affect on this matter because it is a separate issue.
