Petty Larceny

Sorry, I pressed submit before I stated typing, ok here is my question.

A few friends of mine decided to steal some stuff from a store. They were caught and charged with Petty Larceny in the amount of $459. So, I would like some advice.

Do they need a lawyer? Is there a Jury? What will most likely be the outcome? (jail time, fne, community service, etc..)

Yea...that would be believable but I don't think that can stem from a petty larceny charge jackass....

If that were to happen, they wouldn't have released my friends, they probably would have taken them to jail. Thanks for the help...
