What is the name of your state?NC Can my brother legally do away with all of dad's personal belongings in the house and rent the house since the property is in his name? Dad is still living.

Your father's property is his as long as he is alive and unless he has authorized your brother to dispose of his personal belongings.
If the property is in your brother's name, he can do whatever he wants to do with it, like sell it, rent it, tear it down.
