adoption

What is the name of your state? Arkansas My boyfriend and I have 2 kids together .I already had 2 .can he adopt them without us being married.? HELP

Also I would like to add that you need to check with a lawyer in your state because in my state you have to be married to your spouse for a year before adoption and it does have to be a step-parent. So in essence yes you either need VTPR(voluntary termination of parental rights) or depending on the circumstances get TPR from bio-dad but you would still more more then likely need to be married.
