Is there any benefit to buying a franchise as opposed to buying the equipment and starting the same TYPE of business on your own? We are considering buying a Child ID franchise for $30,000. We have recently found a company that makes all the equipment we need to start our own Child ID company at a quarter of the price the franchise is charing for the equipment and territory. We could buy our own equipment (better than the franchisors actually), our business license, our own logo, etc and do the same thing.
Is owning a franchise and franchise name more of a benefit or is there really no benefit?
