What
is the name of your state? nebraska.my fiance's ex-wife pettioned the court in their divorce so she could take back her maiden name..well the divorce is final for almost a year and she is still using his last name.she bought a house and a car using this name.since she asked the court to restore her maiden name is she in contempt by not doing that?can she continue to purchase things using her old married name?is their a time limit she has to take back her name?

My response:

There is nothing illegal about her using any name she chooses, including her former married name. All this boils down to is your "pride", that "How dare she use that name!"

Well, she "dares", and she's within her rights.

And besides, her maiden name is probably something like "Leichsteinblad", and who wouldn't want to use a nicer sounding name, like "Kennedy"?

In the final analysis, there's nothing you or anyone can do.
