What is the name of your state?
Ohio

We bought international airplane tickets with the total price $1500 from the company that advertised their services on the net. The company is located in New-York City, we live in Ohio. We paid from our credit card on the net and the tickets were sent to us by mail. We used to buy tickets from this company before and never had any problems. This time, however, we did not use the tickets and as the tickets were refundable we were advised by the representative of the company to send tickets back by mail. We were promised that our money would be returned immediately after the company got the tickets back. We have the copies of the tickets and the receipt that the company got them by mail. But they never returned back our money. We contacted the company several times by phone, but the only reply we got was that the company had temporal financial problems and would try to return our money back at the very first chance. As it is already almost a year since the purchase of the tickets we started to doubt that we would ever get our money back. Please, advise what we can do in this situation.

I would contact your bank and credit card Co. and file a dispute of the charges . They should be able to send you a form to fill out and send back. They will then contact that Co.

Also, file a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office in your region and file a Complaint.

Also file one with the Better Business Bureau in there area .

Give it about 30 to 60 days and see if you hear anything .

Blonde is wrong on this one!!!
Your right to dispute a charge (if they were charged, which is NOT in your post) has long expired. This 'right to dispute' is given in the FCBA (Fair Credit Billing Act) and only applies within 60 days of the statement with the charge. Since your post says "As it is already almost a year since the purchase of the tickets", that allowed period is long gone.

So, your only real recourse at this point is to consider taking legal action against them. This would have to be done in THEIR 'home' county and since your post says that they have "temporal financial problems", you should find out if they are still in operation and have any assets BEFORE filing your lawsuit.
