Wondering what are typical grounds for a countersuit? We are parents of a high-school junior and we are being sued by the parent of another student who drove her mom's vehicle to school and it supposedly was scratched during a fire-drill by our child.

We feel we can easily defeat these allegations and not have a judgement against us; however, because how ludicrous the situation is we feel the need to send a message to the complaintant in the form of a countersuit. After all we are still going to be out a day's worth of work to attend this hearing, time filling out paperwork (answering the court summons), and the general stress, frustration, and anger of having this action brought against us.

Is there justice for those of us being wrongfully sued or do we just have to grin and bear it; being satisfied not having a judment against us at the end of the day? Or do you need details of this situation to help?

sorry but you dont have valid grounds for a countersuit. just defending a lawsuit is not sufficient grounds for a countersuit.
