What is the name of your state? Georgia
My dad passed away in March 03. I am his executor. Some of the medical bills that I receive indicate that no money is due at this time because insurance is pending. The providers say that between Medicare and my dad's supplemental insurance it can take more then a year to finalize amount due from the pateint. What should I do as executor. Should I wait another year to distribute his estate of approximately $50,000?

You can determine the maximum amount that could possibly be owed for medical bills and then distribute the remainder.
