What is the name of your state? HAWAII> What is due process & what all types of things does it pertain to??service to appear in court? notification of who was awarded custody? etc.? What is "in a timely manner? What would be considered "reasonable efforts"? A little background info. is contained in the thread below this one , w/ my same name on it.

depends on what in the hell you're talking about.

How about a few facts to go along with this nonsense?

sandi--see your other thread but also if you have the gumption here is what you can do: go to CPS, tell them you would like to read the administrative code for child abuse and neglect investigations. Have you received a copy of the child welfare assessment findings? Is it detailed and does it look at many aspects of the family situation?

Don't just look at "fight cps" type sites. The Council on Accreditation accredits many child and family services agencies and has written standards for developing service plans. The Child Welfare League of America also has loads of information. Use their acronyms in your search engine (search "COA" or "CWLA" for example). "Reasonable efforts" aqre discussed a great deal on some of these sites. There's also one called casanet.org or casaweb.org (you can try search for "CASA" in capital letters). CASA stands for "court appointed special advocate" or something like that . Type in "reasonable efforts" as a search phrase (use the quotes). The phrase is used for a lot of legal situations but you will come up with sites that refer to reasonable efforts in child protection.
