What is the name of your state?

California

I'm involved in a dispute with a manufacturer of a product. While in a public place I drew much attention to the product and made many truthful satements of fact about the product. I recorded my conversations with those to whom I spoke. I was not alone. While I was away from the product a friend of mine made a statement that may or may not have been factual. The product manufacturer has threatened to sue me to recover potential lost sales as a result of the statement my friend made. Can I be legally held responsible for his statements?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

My response:

Unless they can prove that your friend was your "agent", and that you "ratified" his statements, then no.
