Logo question

What is the name of your state? CA

I run a windows support forum, I am getting a new logo made and was wondering if I able to use the MS logo for windows XP in it? I can't find any guidlines on this. If I cannot use the logo itself, can I use a variant of it? To where it doesnt look exactly like it, but some charactistics of the logo, colors, etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

And what did Microsoft tell you when you went to http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/ip/trademarks/winguide.asp and asked????
