What is the name of your state? TX
For one individual to file suite on another individual for slander, what proof would the plaintiff need to provide? Would a written statement from a third party suffice or would that be considered hearsay?

You have left a blank question, no one know's your situation, so I will leave a simple definition of Slander for you to look over, and no, a written declaration will not really help you, what ever your problem is.

Slander is to charge falsely or with malicious intent; attack the good name and reputation of someone.

The key word is "FALSELY", and you must prove that and any damages.
