What is the name of your state? NY
I'm writing on behalf of a friend who has just gotten a commercial drivers' license. He also recently moved from MA to NY and therefore switched his license from MA to NY (before acquiring his CDL). Now that he has gotten hired by a company, it has come to light that although he surrendered his license to the NYS DMV, MA still considers him licensed in MA. And it is illegal for a CDL holder to be licensed in 2 states. So either NY never informed MA that they had converted his license to NY, or MA ignored NY's notification. Of course it will be taken care of eventually, but until it is, he is prevented from working and therefore losing wages. Any ideas on how to expedite the "clearing up" of the issue, or of any action that can be taken if this ends up causing financial hardship?
