My husband wants to adopt my 30 yr. old son so that he will have an heir. He has no biological children of his own. We want to do this right away. What is the process and how long does it take? My son is living and working in Finland until the spring on a work visa but I am assuming that this would not cause any problems since he is a USA citizen and a resident of North Carolina as my husband and I are. Please advise.
