What is the name of your state? kentucky. i am currently on probation for a felony charge for 5 years. i recently had my first and middle name changed 3 days ago legally. i did not notify my probation officer before i changed the name. but i did notify him via voice mail and a copy of name change yesterday. 1st question is .... is a name change a civil right? 2nd question... can i be revoked for changing my name since i do not have civil rights while on probation. what will happen?

"is a name change a civil right?"
*** No.

"can i be revoked for changing my name since i do not have civil rights while on probation. what will happen?"
*** No one can 'guess' since it may be prohibited by the state probation rules.

A review of the state statutes does NOT show a criminal charge as being a prohibited element.
The statute can be found at:
