What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Texas....my boyfriend's Mother recently passed away, and his sister showed him a will that was dated in 1977 that his Mom and Dad (deceased in 1996) had filed. In the will, the sister is named as the executrix of the will, with no mention of her brother at all. He was not named at all, as if he didn't exist. The will has been filed for probate and will go to court soon, does he need to retain a lawyer to contest this will? His Mother had already signed the property over to her daughter to protect it in the event that she became too ill to pay her bills. He does not want to fight for half of the property, just part of the remaining estate.
