I live in Michigan and my ex wife lives in Florida. My divorce judgement (effective 4/30/00) allows that my son (in Florida with my ex wife) may visit me for 3 weeks during the summer. When I tried to arrange for this to happen, my ex wife refused my telephone calls and never responded to my letters. What are my options?

My response:

Here's what she's saying to you:

1. "I know I signed the Agreement, and that it's now a court order. I don't care. I'd rather be in contempt of court than to put my son on an airplane to be away from me."

2. "I may have agreed to it, and I may be in contempt of court for not following it, but if you want to enforce the court order against me then you'll have to spend your money and time here in Florida to do it. Otherwise, you can forget having our son leave the State of Florida for anything!"
